From the creators of such classics as Sim City, Sim Ant, Sim Farm, and a bunch of other great games.

Sim Golf has beautifully rendered views, flying birds, and an excellent course selection. It is obvious that they spared no expense, in creating the look and feel of the game. However the swing interface is frustrating at best. It is very difficult to hit the ball straight, it relies on the fact that you can drag your mouse in a straight path, and at the correct velocity. While this sounds easy, it is difficult to actually master. Because alot of factors come into play, the cleanliness of our mouse ball for one, how you have your wrist situated. This for me is too real.

The Course Editor is one of the best that I have used, it allows you to do just about everything when building a course. The course editor has a very simple drag and drop interface. And it allows you to preview the course that you have built. One of the nicest features of the architect is the ability to edit the existing course, so if there is a feature of one of the professional courses that you like, you can edit that course to suit your needs.

Sim Golf is a really great simulation of the real thing, but that is what it is, a simulation of the real thing. It is is difficult to hit the ball correctly, consistently and accurately, every single time, but that is also a part of the real game. Maxis has gone to great pains to create beautiful simaulation, right down to the animated birds. The course editor for Sim Golf is outstanding!
