Did you get addicted to Diablo like the rest of the Planet? Have you completed all of the levels with every character class? Do you just have a need for more? Hellfire the latest release from Sierra-Online will fill the void.
Hellfire is Single player expansion pack for Diablo (you must own Diablo in order to use Hellfire). Sierra has added a new character class (the monk), 8 new quests, 23 new enemies, five new spells, 30 new magic items, and 2 new locations adding 8 new levels (The Demon Crypt and the Festering Nest).
Hellfire introduces players to new
(single-player only) quests revolving around a
powerful demon known as Na-Krul. A creature who
once served as Diablo's chief minion and
strongest ally, Na-Krul and his cohorts rebelled
against Diablo. After a failed attempt to
overthrow their master, they were banished to the
Void. Freed by an evil sorceror, Na-Krul has set
up command in the ancient Demon Crypts and has
once again marshalled his plans to destroy Diablo
and rule Hell for himself. Gathering together a
small army of never-before-seen monsters, Na-Krul
now poses a threat nearly as deadly as the mighty
Diablo.
Hellfire adds a new monk class to the already existing Diablo Character classes. The monk primarily is a martial artist that can use weapons and wear armor. However he is most suited to wearing leather (light weight armor) and using the staff. One of the nicest abilities of the monk is to strike more than one opponent with a single blow only in hand to hand combat.
Hellfire also has a fast walk feature in town, when in town you basically walk two to three times faster than normal. The new weapons and items in Hellfire are cool, and there quite a few items that your most powerful characters would want. Like the Armor of Gloom, Gnat Sting Bow, and the Eater of Souls Sword.
Basically the Diablo game is the same, but there are more levels and monsters that need to be killed before completion. Since Diablo ][ is not ready yet, Hellfire is just what is needed. Hellfire is like playing Diablo all over again.
